Well Batu Caves is teeming with, you guessed it, roaming gangs of wild monkeys. In order to reach the temple you must climb 272 steep steps while feral monkeys scamper all around you and under feet.
Against my better judgement, Paige persuaded me to take a picture next to one, and I swear it could smell my fear. Even though I was a respectful distance away, the monkey narrowed its eyes, crouched into some sort of monkey attack position, bared its teeth…and screamed at me.
OMG! You never saw me move so fast. According to Paige I shrieked in absolute terror screaming “Ebola! God! Nooooo!” as I jumped over other tourists in my attempt to run away as fast as I have ever run in my life. Batu Caves, thank you for the visit, but I will never be back.
Who told me monkeys were cute?
See the scary eyes narrowing…
Getting into his monkey attack stance just before he screamed right in my face.
Ebola!
